Most clinics inject the joint space and stop there. In advanced arthritis, much of the disease lives in the subchondral bone underneath — and intra-articular injections never reach it. Dr. DeWald is among the few physicians offering intraosseous delivery of bone marrow concentrate into that subchondral bone for the knee, hip, shoulder and other joints.
The supporting evidence includes a randomized study by Hernigou and colleagues in which knees receiving subchondral bone marrow cell injections were followed for a mean of fifteen years against knee replacement in the opposite knee — with most injected knees never requiring an implant.

Dr. DeWald has spent 14+ years helping athletes and active adults recover without surgery — combining diagnostic ultrasound precision with procedural accuracy, and teaching the next generation of physicians to do the same.
